It was an overwhelming & a lifetime experience for actor Akhil Rajendra (www.akhilrajendra.com) who admires Mr. Amitabh Bachchan as his source of inspiration & a one man institute of acting since childhood, gets the SMS from Mr. Bachchan itself just before his 1st shot of his debut film, "DOWNTOWN" also starring , Smilie Suri, Vinod Khanna, Rati Agnihotri & others, directed by Andalib Majrooh Sultanpuri music by Sanjeev-Darshan where Big B writes "Good Wishes" to Akhil & apparently his shot too got OK in one take. Entire unit got touched with very kind gesture of Mr. Bachchan & got charged with energy.

Smilie Suri is trilled to work in film DOWNTOWN with introducing actor Akhil Rajendra as DOWNTOWN is very refreshing storyline & fantastic music after her debut in superht film KALYUG of Mahesh Bhatt camp.

DOWNTOWN a trip to fall in love

Synopsis

Sahil (Akhil Rajendra) is the only son of multi-millionaire Rajdeep Oberoi (Vinod Khanna). He has become insensitive to human values because he has so much wealth around him.

This callous attitude of his son worries Rajdeep. After an incident where Sahil neglects Rajdeep’s close pal who is critically ill, Rajdeep decides it’s time to teach Sahil a lesson. He challenges Sahil to leave the luxury of home and stay on the streets of Mumbai for just 24 hours without the material luxuries he is so use to. Thinking that 24 hours on the streets would be easy, Sahil accepts the challenge and leaves home.

Soon Sahil finds out that being on the street with no money and nowhere to go, even one minute feels like an unbearable hour. Pushed around in the city crowd, Sahil bumps into Anushka (Smilie Suri), who has come to Mumbai to take part in a TV reality Show.

Anushka is a cheerful, bubbly girl. She is friendly and has a fondness for others around her. She knows how to make her way with people’s help. She immediately strikes a chord with Sahil.

Eventually, Anushka too lands up with nothing to do but while away time until the next morning, waiting for her train back home.
From here begins a day long journey of two strangers together, but with different attitudes to seeing life. Sometimes humorous, sometimes emotional but always exciting......................

They say opposites attract, but would these two fall for each other during this stopover?
